GIFT AID SCHEME

HOW A PARISH CAN GET MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT FOR NOTHING

If you are a taxpayer and give your donations under the Gift Aid Scheme, it means that the Parish can reclaim another 25p for every £1 you give in offertory donations. The 25p reclaimed on every £1 is money that the Parish can reclaim in tax and the Government is very keen that charities benefit from this system. This does not cost parishioners any more than they are already giving as the tax recovered comes from the government.

If you are a tax payer and are not in the Gift Aid Scheme, please will you consider joining?

All that is required to join the scheme is as follows:

  • you are a taxpayer
  • you complete and sign a form giving your name and address
  • you wish all donations to be treated as Gift Aid Donations
  • you give your weekly donations in specially numbered envelopes so that they can be recorded or alternatively you can make your donations by monthly, quarterly or annual standing orders directly to the Parish Bank account.
  • Anyone wishing to join can contact the Parish Priest on telephone no 01388 762724 or e-mail saintcuthbertschurchcrook@uwclub.net and their information will be passed to the Gift Aid Organiser, who will deal with this with complete confidentiality.
